Trypanosoma  a blood sucking parasite causes a serious disease known as SURRA.

The incidence of disease in our area is mostly seen in september month when predominance of flies is noted. Because disease is spread mechanically by arthropod vector TABANUS FLY.

CLINICAL SIGNS

High rise of temp.

Redness in cornea

pale congectiva and buccal mucous membrane

Nervous signs like circleing movement and abnormal posture of neck

Deacrease in milk production

TREATMENT

Single dose of TRIQUIN @4.4 mg /kg body wt

One liter dextrose normal saline for three days

Vet blood  50 ml daily for 10 days

PREVENTION

Prevent your animals from flies by using fly nets and decrease flies population by cleanless of animal sheds
